Let's Tap!
What recording artists are in your playlist?? Hopefully a few of those artists hail from the state of Georgia. There are so many iconic and legendary recording artist that were born in Georgia like Ray Charles, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Allman Brothers Band, and Outkast. That iconic list also includes artists who may not have been born in Georgia but fostered their careers here in the city of Atlanta like John Mayer. This year’s Let’s Tap! theme is The Playlist of Georgia, directed and choreographed by Kyme Hersi-Sallid. The Rhythm Keepers and Junior Rhythm Keepers tap companies, along with the Apprentice Rhythm Keepers, are ready to celebrate Georgia’s artists by hoofing to music that will make you want to dance in your seat and sing along. The Rug Cutters teen swing dancers, directed by Eliza Reese and Danny Iktomi Bevins, will also join in the fun as guest performers. Other recording artists in our tapping playlist are Little Richard, B-52's, Brenda Lee, Otis Redding, R.E.M., James Brown, Lauren Alaina, Lainey Wilson, CeeLo Green, Johnny Mercer, India.Arie, Sugarland and Usher. Please join us for the 11th annual production of Let’s Tap! It will be a toe-tapping celebration of our local music icons, and don’t forget to bring your tap shoes to join us on stage for the Shim Sham. Let’s Tap!
